Boca Raton, FL –Dorothy Lucille Chism Williams, 91, died on Friday, October 19, 2012, in Boca Raton, FL. Born May 25, 1921, in Becker, she was a daughter of the late Minnie Turman Chism and James Q. Chism. She married the love of her life, Loman W. Williams, in 1942.
Mrs. Williams was a graduate of Smithville High School, Class of 1940. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Amory, for many years. Mrs. Williams moved to Boca Raton, to be with her family, whom she loved dearly. Although she had been gone from Amory the last seven years, she still kept up with family and friends, and was proud to tell everyone in Florida that she was from Mississippi. She treasured the time spent with her family, to whom she was such an inspiration and a guiding light. Mrs. Williams was a devout Christian, always giving Godly wisdom, who lived life to its fullest, and always saw the good in every situation. Her humor, although not knowing she was being humorous, will be missed by many. Giving of herself, she raised two daughters, and supported her husband as he traveled in the Air Force. She was a master seamstress and designer of clothes.
She is survived by her daughters, Dianne Sanders (Bill) and Karen Rhodes, all of Boca Raton; grandchildren, Eric Kirkland (Tracy) of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Adam Rhodes (Mollie)of West Palm Beach, FL, Tara Esposito (Brian), of Hollywood, FL, and Dana Rhodes of Boca Raton; great granddaughters, Ella and Lily Rhodes.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 6 brothers and 4 sisters.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, October 27, 2012, at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Jimmy McFatter officiating. Burial will follow at Haughton Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Eric Kirkland, Van Burroughs, Barry Williams, family and friends.
