Hatley, Miss.—Dorothy McNeese Tipton, 78, died on Tuesday, July 23, 2013 at her daughter’s home. Born October 20, 1934, she was a daughter of the late James Thomas and Maggie Jane Heard McNeese and she married Gene Tipton on August 9, 1952. Before her retirement, she worked at Glenn Mfg. where she was a surger and later in quality inspecting. A woman of great faith that loved her family, she was a member of the Christian Chapel Church of Christ. She enjoyed cooking, camping, gardening, and flowers.
A Celebration of Life Service will be 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 25, 2013 at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Minister Philip Hathcock officiating. Burial will be in the Durrett Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Gene Tipton of Hatley; two daughters, Sandra Vaughan (Pete) of Hatley and Patsy Taylor (Ronald) of Amory; 3 sisters, Betty Easter (J.D.) of Aberdeen, Linda Devaughan of Aberdeen, and Odeen Woods of Texas; 3 brothers, Robert Ray McNeese (Hilda Ruth) of Amory, Clinton McNeese, Jr. (Julia) of Quincy, and Jackie Wayne McNeese (Elizabeth) of Quincy; 8 grandchildren, Lee Vaughan, Cassie Vaughan Chism, Candy Wilson, Zack Jones, Mandy Renfroe, Becky Kyle, Josh Randall, and Caton Tipton; and 10 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, James Bryant McNeese; and one son, Eddie Ray Tipton.
Pallbearers will be Lee Vaughan, Zack Jones, Josh Randall, J.D. Easter, Shawn Renfroe, and Jackie McNeese.
Visitation will continue until service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
