Wren – Dorothy Faye Reeves, 77, died on Wednesday, October 3, 2012, at Golden Living Nursing Center. Born on February 27, 1935, in Monroe County, she was a daughter of the late Charlie and Mary Belle Strawhorn White.
Mrs. Reeves was a graduate of Okolona High School, Class of 1955. On June 25, 1955, she married Truman Earl Reeves. Before becoming a homemaker, she had worked for Elmore’s Dime Store, Amory Garment, Dollar General, and the Tenn-Tom Inn. Mrs. Reeves was a faithful member of Nettleton Church of Christ. Spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, was very important to her. Friendly and outgoing, Mrs. Reeves enjoyed working in her rose garden, reading books, shopping, traveling, and Gospel and Country music.
She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Truman Earl Reeves, Wren; daughters, Debbie Nicholson (Randy), Wren, and Lisa Holeman (Carlton), Yazoo City; sons, Wayne Reeves (Betty), Pontotoc, Truman Ray Reeves, Wren, and Donnie Reeves (Peggy), Pontotoc; sister, Ida Frances Hogan; grandchildren, Jessie (Megan), Junior (Nikki), Tesa, Donna, Adrian, and Lacresia; great-grandchildren, Kaitlin, Lindsey, Dakota, Kayden, Jaxton, Kimberly, and Kevin; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Margaret Diane Reeves, and brother, Charles White.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 PM, Friday, October 5 at Nettleton Church of Christ with Mr. Jimmy Bates and Mr. Jeff Bates officiating. Burial will follow in Wren Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jessie Reeves, Curtis Reeves, Ricky Reeves, Jimmy Allred, Dakota Reeves, Kevin Crosby, and Andy Kembry.
Visitation will be from 6 – 9 PM, Thursday at the church.
