Ethelsville, Ala.—Dorothy Louise White Prestridge, 59, died on Monday, April 1, 2013 at the Baptist Memorial Hospital-Golden Triangle in Columbus. Born May 2, 1953 in Sulligent, AL, she was a daughter of the late Plessie and Elsie Mae Pickle White. A woman of great faith, she was a member of the Calvary Assembly of God in Columbus. Having a passion for children, she enjoyed her work as a tutor at Hearts after-school program. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life service will be 2 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2013 at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. Eric Crews officiating. Burial will be in the Pickle Cemetery.
Survivors include one daughter, Christy Oversen of Ethelsville, AL; one son, James Michael Prestridge (Melissa) of Ethelsville, AL; one sister, Marie Goble of Memphis, TN; one brother, Billy White of Columbus; and 4 grandchildren, Carley Prestridge, Maesie Prestridge, Allison Oversen, and Steven Michael Oversen.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and by one brother, Jimmy Lewis.
Pallbearers will be Chris Lytle, Billy Zimmer, Bryan Zimmer, Michael Prestridge, Anthony Smith, Troy Clayton, Richard Brown, and Jake Wesli.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. on Thursday evening at the funeral home.
