Amory – Dorothy Sue Nash, 83, passed away on Thursday, May 28, 2015, at her residence in Amory. Born on June 8, 1931, in Amory, she was the daughter of the late Dave and Sue Boreland Nash.
Dorothy attended and graduated from Hatley High School. She loved sports and as a youth, she played on the Basketball Team at Hatley. Ms. Nash was a faithful member of Amory Church of Christ. She worked many years serving the public, while working at both Red Cap and Wal-Mart. The most important thing in her life was her family. She showed her dedication and love for family a lot like Ruth did in the Bible. She took care of her ill sister, Faye, who lived in Memphis, for over ten years. After Faye passed away, Dorothy then took care of Faye’s husband, Hud, until he passed away. Dorothy really enjoyed watching her grandson, David, enjoy life on the farm. She spent time with her great grandchildren fishing and playing on their farm. Some of her hobbies included cross stitching, watching sports, spending time with close friends Doris Knight and Peggy Nash. Dorothy enjoyed listening to Southern Gospel Music and spending time with the ones she loved.
She is survived by a son, John David Dallas, Hatley; sister, Mavourleen Trembelas, Amory; grandchildren, John David Dallas, Jr. (April), Saltillo; great grandchildren, Karmen Dallas, Delta Dallas, Alivia Dallas, and John David Dallas III; special friends, Peggy Nash, Doris Knight, and Carrie Cane.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Faye Holmquist; twin brother, Darwin Nash; brother-in-laws, Hud Holmquist and John Trembelas.
A Funeral Service will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, May 30, 2015, at the Amory Church of Christ with Mr. Derrick Moranto officiating. A Private Family Burial will be in Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Law, Jay Pierce, Allen Williams, Glen Robert, Chuck Begnauld, and Charles Kimble.
Visitation will be from 5PM - 7 PM, Friday, May 29, 2015, at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory. Ms. Nash will lie in state from 9AM until the service hour at the Amory Church of Christ.
