Amory – Dorothy Faye Majors, 82, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2017, at Diversicare of Amory. Born on May 25, 1934, in Itawamba County, she was a daughter of the late Curtis and Ola Pace Culver.

Dorothy attended Nettleton schools. At a young age, she married the love of her life, Archie Majors. They were happily married for over 63 years. Dorothy was a wonderful homemaker and nurturing mother. She and Archie were blessed with three children. After raising their children, she went to work as an Inspector at the Amory Garment Factory. A vibrant and funny person, Dorothy had a great personality. Dorothy was of the Baptist Faith. She was a passionate person who cared for her family and friends. She loved to shop and eat out with her daughter and granddaughter. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, reading, and spending time with her dogs, Maggie and Hildaguard. She was a member of the National Humane Society and she enjoyed listening to classical music and gardening in her flower garden. She will missed dearly by her loved ones.

She is survived by her daughter, Rebecca Majors Dill (Ralph), Amory; son, Danny Majors, Amory; grandchildren, Kevin Dill (Brandy), Amory, Carrie Dill Ligon (Tony), Smithville; great-grandchildren, Cate and Caroline Dill; Blake, Triston and Tyler Ligon; sisters, Lee Ewing, Tupelo, sister-in-law, Arvella Cox, Amory; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Dolly Kent; Nurses Robin, Sandra, and Nikki; Gentiva Hospice staff.

In addition to her parents and husband of 63 years, she was preceded in death by a son, Tommy Majors; brothers, Charles Culver and Wayne Culver; sister, Mary Kelly.

Her Funeral Service will be at 1 PM, Monday, January 23 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory, with Bro. Phillip Lindsey officiating. Burial will be Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and Kirk Howell.

Visitation will be from 11 AM – 12:45 PM, Monday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, her family requests memorials are given to Amory Humane Society, PO Box 218, Amory, MS, 38821.
