Dorothy Kitchens

Moline, IL - Dorothy Kitchens, 87, died on Monday, February 25, 2013, in Aledo, IL. Born on September 15, 1925, in Amory, she was a daughter of the late Lester and Tyna Irvin Johnson. She married James Edwards Kitchens, Sr. in Sulligent, AL on January 25, 1941. She enjoyed sewing and knitting. She was a member of Bethel Assembly of God in Rock Island, IL.

She is survived by her daughters, Edna Webb (David), Rock Island, IL, Mary E. Carr, Covington, TN; son, Jim Kitchens, Kent, WA; sisters, Doris Spiller and Peggy Bullock; one brother, Donald Johnson (Sue); 8 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by her daughters, Zatha and Janice Kitchens.

A graveside service will be held March 5, 2013 at 11 AM, at Lann Cemetery, in the Splunge Community.
