Greenwood Springs – Dorothy “Dot” Edwards, 89, died on Sunday, December 16, 2012, at Golden Living Center, Amory. Born on October 1, 1923, in Itawamba County, she was a daughter of the late W. H. and Feona Samples Bullen.

Mrs. Edwards married Jessie Burns Edwards in 1943. She was proud of rearing their three, young children following her husband’s death in 1958. Working in the garment industry, she retired after more than 40 years of service. A woman who loved the Lord, Mrs. Edwards was a member of New Temple Church of God and attended East Amory Baptist Church. Very loving, she was dedicated to her family and grandchildren. Mrs. Edwards enjoyed cooking for her family, gardening, quilting, and Gospel music. She enjoyed visiting, eating out, and shopping with her dearest friend.

She is survived by her daughters, Peggy Edwards Fooshee (Harrel), Amory and Margaret Long, Greenwood Springs; son, Jimmy Lee Edwards (Donna), Amory; sisters, Mavis McCullar (T. J.), Hamilton, AL, Luna Pugh, Tacoma, WA, and Geneva Barrett, Corbin, KY; grandchildren, Richard Long (Kathy), Anthony Fooshee (Marla), Chad Fooshee (Missy), Jennifer Reeves (Steven), Jessica Hendrix (Justin), Deric Edwards, Chase Parham (Kara), and Dylan Edwards; great-grandchildren, Joseph Strickland (Courtney) and Will Strickland; April Edwards (Matt); Courtney Fooshee; Casy Peden; Ethan, Emma, and Ellie Fooshee; Grace and Audrey Reeves; Matthew and Lauren Fooshee; June Hendrix; and Eli Edwards; great-great-grandchildren, Lexius Edwards, Reed and Cooper Strickland; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a brother, A. B. Bullen; son-in-law, Dale Long; and dearest friend, Beatrice Parker.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, December 19 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Roger Akers and Mr. Marshall Eubanks, Jr., minister, officiating. Burial will follow in Union Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Richard Dale Long, Anthony Harrel Fooshee, Chad Keith Fooshee, Deric Lee Edwards, Dylan Cody Edwards, and Chase Parham. Honorary pallbearers will be Casy Peden, Justin Hendrix, Steven Reeves, Will Strickland, Joseph Strickland, and Matt Edwards.

Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home.
