Amory – Dorothy Ann Walters Parish, 89, passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2022, at her residence in Amory, MS. She was born on November 6, 1933, in Josephine, Texas, to the late Search Walters and Maudie Neal Young Walters.

They were married and God blessed them with three children, several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved her family and they were what gave her the most enjoyment in life.

She was an independent woman who was of the Baptist faith. Dorothy believed in God and tried to always help others out. In her free time, she loved to liked to listen to Gospel music as well as country music, especially George Jones. Dorothy also enjoyed a quiet book and at one point in her life, she would read a small book almost every other day. She enjoyed being outside around God’s beautiful creations.

Her family knows that she is at peace and she is totally healed. Dorothy will be dearly missed and the memories made with her through the years will be cherished forever.

She is survived by her children, Cynthia Lansdell, Hatley, Ray Parish, KY, and Wayne Parish, Iuka, MS; grandchildren, Timothy Parish (Heather), Todd Parish (Abbie), Tammy Parish and Tonya Jones; great-grandchildren, Britleigh Parish, Bradlee Parish, Tristan Parish, Tray Parish, Trevor Parish; Harley, Haley, Emmitt and Eli Goodin; Jasmine Ausborne; Kamryn and Jase Jones; great-great-grandchildren, Cash Marchbanks; sister, Jean Crosby, Rachel Capel, Doris Thornton, and Joyce Ashcraft; brothers, James Walters and Donny; and a host of nieces and nephews.
