Amory – Dorothy Faye Addington died on Sunday, November 30, 2014, at Gilmore Memorial RMC. Born on September 5, 1932, in Itawamba County, she was a daughter of the late William Melvin and Elsie Irene Umfress Pope.
Mrs. Addington attended Salem School. On March 27, 1950, she married Olen Addington. She worked as a sales clerk at Hob-Nob Fashions before retiring. She was of the Primitive Baptist faith. Mrs. Addington loved spending time with her grandchildren. She enjoyed talking with people, going to and having yard sales, shopping, reading mystery novels and listening to Christmas and Gospel music.
Survivors include her daughters, Rebecca King (Jimmy), Madison and Vickie Pickle (David), Hatley; sisters, Wilma Hallmark, Houston and Willie Smith, Amory; sisters-in-law, Bernice Roberts (Charles), Phoenix, AZ, and Lavern Pope, Hatley; grandchildren, Amanda Price (Clint) and Jess King, Madison, and Zac Pickle, Starkville; great-grandchildren, Tyler Price and Avery Price; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Josephine P. Akers and Doris P. Collier; brothers, Douglas and James Pope.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2 PM, Tuesday, December 2 in Haughton Memorial Park with Bro. Phillip Lindsey officiating. Pallbearers will be Jimmy and Jess King; David, Zac and Kris Pickle; and Dewayne Hallmark.
Visitation will be from 11:30 AM – 1:30 PM, Tuesday at the funeral home. Everyone is asked to meet at the funeral home at 1:30 PM to go in procession to the cemetery.
