Cason – Doris Faye Haughton, 79, died on Friday, August 17, 2012 at Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center, in Amory. Born on May 29, 1933 in Lee County, she was the daughter of the late Barney B. and Cletus Hall Oswalt. She married James W. Haughton Sr. in 1955.
Mrs. Haughton grew up in the Cason Community and attended Bigbee School. She was a member of Cason Baptist church, attending services on a regular basis, until her health began to fail. Through the years, she remained completely devoted to God. Being very family oriented, she cherished every moment she spent with them, and was very well known within her family for her famous tea cakes.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 PM, Sunday, August 19 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Sammy Hardin and Bro. Chuck Moffett officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brad, Brandon, and Tyler Cline, Brandon Steinke, Austin Causy and Chad Haughton. Honorary pallbearers will be Anthony and Nathan Gray.
Visitation will be on Saturday, August 18, from 5-8pm at the funeral home.
Survivors include one son, James Haughton, Jr. (Ocie Mae) of Cason; grandchildren, Kathy House of Cason, Angie (Ronnie) Cline, Jonesboro, AR., Jamie Steinke (Charles), Amory and Chad Haughton of Cason, 11 great grandchildren and 5 great -great grandchildren.
Mrs. Haughton was preceded in death by her husband and parents, and two great grand children.
