Woodstock, GA— Doris Brasfield, age 80 of Woodstock, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at Northside Hospital Cherokee. She was born on August 3, 1938 at a private residence in Smithville, MS to the late Leroy and Reba Booth Henson of Smithville.
Doris grew up and graduated from Smithville High School and she continued her education at Itawamba Junior College. She married Clarence Brasfield in December of 1958 and they were blesseed with a son. In 1961, her family moved to Georgia where she lived the rest of her life. She was a faithful member of Rising Hills Church in Canton, Georgia. She knew Jesus as her Lord and Savior and her family has peace knowing that she is home.
Most of her career was spent as a homemaker and her family meant the most to her. She was an artist who loved to paint and she was an expert flower gardener. She had a very generous heart and would help anyone in need. Doris loved her family, especially her grandchildren and she often cooked wonderful meals for them. Her memories will be cherished forever by her family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm, Sunday, March 31st at the Smithville Chapel of E. E. Pickle Funeral Home in Smithville, MS with Bro. John Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Pearce Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12:30 pm until the service hour at the funeral home in Smithville, MS.
Doris is survived by her husband, Clarence "Bub" Brasfield, Woodstock; son, Neal (Holly) Brasfield, Canton; grandchildren, Aubrey Fenton, Ashley Brasfield; great-grandchildren, Ava and Georgie Fenton; sisters, Betty Cowley, NC, Rebecca Williams, MS, and Linda Gosa, MS.
