Aberdeen – Dorcas Dodd “Pee Wee” Kimbrough, 55, died on Monday, December 3, 2012, at North MS Medical Center, Tupelo. Born on March 30, 1957, in Sikeston, MO, she was a daughter of Frances Lorene Barnett Long and the late Joseph Asbury Dodd.
Living in Monroe County most of her life, Dorcas attended Becker School. She married Woodson D. Kimbrough on March 3, 1991. Before becoming a homemaker, she worked as a seamstress in the garment and furniture industries and as a cook at Pickle Barrel. She was of the Baptist faith. A sweet, good-hearted lady who would help anyone, Dorcas was a great cook and was known for her wonderful dressing. She adored her family, especially her children and grandchildren. Dorcas enjoyed driving and going places; crocheting, knitting, cross-stitch, and quilting; and Country and Gospel music.
She is survived by her mother and step-father, Frances and Bobby D. Long, Aberdeen; son, Donald Eugene Colburn (Mary), Clarksville, TN; step-daughter, Penny Kimbrough, Amory; brothers, Douglas Long (Gwen) and Ivan Long (Julie), Amory; grandchildren, D. J. and Robert Colburn; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Rhonda Shotts, Shannon.
In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her husband, Woodson D. Kimbrough; daughter, Cynthia Darlene Colburn; and son, Robert Leonard Dodd.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 1 PM, Thursday, December 6 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Robert E. Fowlkes officiating. Burial will follow in Camp Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jesse and Mark Barnett; Cory and Dustin Long; Randy King; Chris Darby; and Jonathan Beard. Honorary pallbearer will be Ricky Barnett.
Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM, Wednesday at the funeral home.
