Diney Nell Cantrell Inman

Southaven - Diney Nell Cantrell Inman went to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, November 19, 2019. Nell was born on February 4, 1929, in Gattman, MS. Nell is preceded in death by her parents R.T. and Ola Mae Cantrell, and her siblings John, Ralph, Evelyn, Mae, Faye, Tarbaby, and JC.

Nell is survived by her husband, Frank Inman Jr.; her son Barney Inman (wife Susan); daughter Sandy Cannon (husband Bubba); grandchildren, Michelle Johnson Oden (husband Shawn), Michael Johnson, Shannon Langley, Dustin Langley (wife Yajaira), Garrett Inman, Taylor Rayl (husband Brett), Jordan Inman, Chase Inman (wife Amanda), and Joshua Anderson (wife Kristen); great-grandchildren Caitlin, Tristan, Franklin, Peyton, Kara, Paton, Lily, and Ry; siblings Carolyn Knight (husband Joe) and Rose Coker; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and loved ones

Nell enjoyed a childhood in rural MS. She attended Athens College before venturing to Wisconsin for employment. There, while waiting in line, Nell overheard a man asking about apartments for rent. She volunteered to help him search and thus began her 67+ year love story with her husband Frank.

Nell dedicated her life to serving others. She spent countless hours promoting Peace with Justice and other causes while working with the United Methodist Women. Nell was known for her servant's heart and eagerness to make everyone she encountered feel like an old friend. Nell worked as a waitress; at LTV; and as an aide at Shriners where she lovingly cared for children with disabilities.

Nell enjoyed wood carvings and painstakingly searched for pieces worthy of her collection. Guests in her home were treated to a tour of her treasured carvings. Nell also loved gardening, square dancing, singing gospel and classic country, participating in church activities, spending time with family and loved ones, and teaching children's Sunday school. Nell was known for cooking enough to feed an army, never sitting down to eat, and fun-loving spirit.

We will miss Nell's kindness, laughter, and love.
