Pearl – Dimple Faye Dahlem, 80, passed away on Thursday, October 13, 2016, at her residence. Born on July 20, 1936, in Quincy, MS, she was a daughter of the late Moman Ernest and Lula Mae Rye Adams.
Dimple attended Hatley High School. On October 4, 1952, she married her high school sweetheart, Julius Earl Dahlem. Before enjoying retirement, she had operated a daycare, made draperies for Wall’s Mfg., and worked for Pearl Public Schools. A church goer all her life, she had most recently been attending services at Skyway Hills Baptist Church. Dimple was a lady of strong Christian faith. When she was active in her community, Dimple was a leader in the local youth association, coordinated softball and bowling leagues, and was a member of the Exchange Club.
One who loved people, Dimple would pitch-in and help anyone. She was passionate about and adored her family and enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and baking. Her favorite music was Country and Gospel. Together with her close friends, Diane Israel and Irene McPhail, they literally did everything together over a number of years: rearing children, coaching sports teams, volunteering in the community, camping and traveling. Brenda Payne was another close friend with whom she had a special relationship.
She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Earl Dahlem; daughter, Amanda Dahlem, of Pearl; and son, Glyn Dahlem (Jennifer), Raymond; grandchildren, Joey & Jonathan Dahlem; Meaghan Shannon; great-grandchildren, Ian Gipson and Isabella Grace Shannon; sisters, Dorothy Richardson and Ruby Nell Parham; brother, Kenneth Adams; several nieces and nephews; special friends, Dianne and Roger Israel and family; Irene McPhail; and Brenda Payne.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Venessa Dahlem.
Her Funeral Service will be at 3 PM, Sunday, October 16, 2016, at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory, with Rev. Glyn Wiygul officiating. Burial will be in Haughton Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 1 – 2:50 PM, Sunday, at the funeral home.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held from 5 – 7 PM, Thursday, October 20, 2016, at Baldwin-Lee Funeral Directors in Pearl.
