Dianne Covington Wertz was born to Roland and Lucille Covington of Westville, MS on February 21st, 1948. She passed away on April 9th, 2019 at NMMC.
Dianne attended Aberdeen High School and graduated in 1966. On August 29th, 1969, Dianne married the love of her life, Jack Wertz of Dunlo, PA. They enjoyed forty-nine years of a loving marriage.
Dianne served as an office manager at Larson’s Big Star for 23 years where she kept everyone in line and earned herself the nickname “Boss Hog.” She was an avid reader of Harlequin romances and loved playing games such as Scrabble, Yahtzee, and bridge with her family and friends. Dianne also enjoyed watching football and was a loyal MSU Bulldog and Pittsburgh Steelers fan.
Dianne was a generous individual who was passionate about her family. She enjoyed doting on her nieces and nephews and hosting family get-togethers. Dianne created so many wonderful memories for her family that are too numerous to count. She was so many things to all who knew and loved her and the impact she had will never be forgotten.
Dianne was preceded in death by her parents, Roland and Lucille Covington, and her baby sister Vicky Renee Covington.
She is survived by her husband, Jack Wertz; sister Margaret Cummings (Tommy) of Van Cleave, MS; brother David Covington (Cindy) of Westville, MS; brother Darron Covington (Cindy) of Westville, MS; and a host of nieces and nephews- Melissa Boedecker (Will) & family of Van Cleave, MS; Melanie Howell (Jeff) & family of Amory, MS; Susan Fowler (Danny) of Westville, MS; Shannon Caraway (Daniel) of Brandon, MS; Stacie Bowman (Josh) of Tokyo, Japan; Brooke Phelps (Roger) & family of Hamilton, AL; B.J. McDaniel (Sandra) of Aberdeen, MS; Brittany Canyon (Josh) & family, Vancleave, MS; Justin Colburn (Adrianna) & family, of Vancleave, MS.
Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at 2:00 pm at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory. Burial will follow in Sartor Cemetery in Greenwood Springs, MS.
Visitation for family and friends will be held from 12:30 pm until 2:00 pm at the funeral home in Amory.
