June Faulkner

Aberdeen – Diana June Faulkner, 71, passed away on Friday, December 13, 2024, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo, MS and she became healed in Heaven. She was born on March 25, 1953, in Aberdeen, MS to the late Grover Clinton Sykes and Minnie Grace Ophelia Tubb Sykes.

June grew up in a huge family with four sisters and four brothers in Monroe County and she graduated from Aberdeen High School. She married her high school sweetheart, Keith Taft Faulkner, and together they were blessed with two daughters. When Keith passed at a young age, she drew on her faith in God and with her family’s help, she was able to work, provide, and raise her daughters. For her fierce constant love and strong example, they will be forever grateful. She worked at Tecumseh on the assembly line for many years and thought of her coworkers as family.

June loved the Lord and had a heart of gold. June was a member of Paine Memorial Church in Aberdeen, MS. She lived out her faith daily, was funny, loyal, always ready to offer advice, or take off on an adventure with best friend Gloria Jean Thompson. In her downtime, this ever vigilant scourge of armadillos liked to watch Ole Miss football, Westerns and home renovation shows. June enjoyed the outdoors, mowing and keeping her yard looking like a golf course. Her humor and wisdom will be missed yet her family knows she is with the Lord and has had a sweet reunion.

Left behind to treasure her memories are her daughters - Angela Carol Faulkner (Michael), Aitkin, MN, Patricia Diane Sartor (Rodney), Katy, TX; grandchildren - Laura Grace Sartor and John Douglas Sartor; her siblings - Larry Sykes (Mary Nett), Aberdeen, MS, Clinton Sykes (Maxine), Aberdeen, MS, Howard Sykes, Aberdeen, MS, Shirley Brown, Amory, MS, Johnny Brewer, Aberdeen, MS, Cathy Runnels (Rodger), Aberdeen, MS, and Peggy Jackson (Steve), Pearl, MS, and a whole host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Keith Taft Faulkner; and her sister, Martha Carol West (Roy).
