Delores L. Castle

Amory – Delores Lee Castle, 81, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 18, 2024, at Diversicare Nursing Facility in Amory, Mississippi and she had a sweet reunion in Heaven with her family. She was born on October 1, 1942, in Johnson City, Tennessee to the late Austin Campbell and Pearl Sheets Campbell.

Delores “Dee” grew up in beautiful Washington County, TN in a huge family with eight other siblings. She attended school at Science Hill High School in Johnson City, TN. She moved to Mississippi later in life and worked as a Seamstress at Red Kap Industries in Hatley. Dee also fed many families through the years as she was a great cook for Pickle on the Hill Restaurant. A hard working woman, she was strong willed and independent. A provider who always put her family first, Dee was definitely one of a kind.

She was blessed by God with three children and an extended family. Her family meant the world to her and she was a great mother and grandma. Dee was a little sassy at times yet loved others deeply. Country music really made her smile especially anything Conway Twitty sung.

In her downtime, besides being with family, she enjoyed traveling and working on different crafts. Through the years, Dee liked hanging out with her friends, Sandi Smith and Juanita Adkins. Most of all, Dee was proud of the family that she was blessed to raise and how they had accomplished so much in life. They made so many wonderful memories through the years.

Her family is going to miss her so much yet they know someday they will meet again. Until then, they will cherish all the great times with her.

She is survived by her son, John Castle (Emily), Amory; grandchildren, Tiffany McDonald (Jake), Mooreville, James Castle, Jr., Hatley; Evan Castle and Peyton Castle of Amory; great-grandchildren, Caiden Palmer and Piper McDonald, of Mooreville; daughter-in-law, Vickie Castle, Amory.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, James Castle, Sr. and Jeff Berry; brothers, Billy Joe Campbell and Larry Bud Campbell; sisters, Frances Riddle, Ruby Hunter, Jean Renfro, Joan Williams, Edna Bootle, and Lou Ellen Taylor.
