Delores Louise Sims

Becker – Delores Louise Howell Sims, 82, Saturday, January 9, 2016, passed away at her residence in Becker. Born on November 21, 1933, in Monroe County, she was the daughter of Dorothy Killian and Leon L. Howell

Mrs. Sims attended Becker School. In 1953, after she married Tildon Sims, they moved to Texas where she became a pharmacy technician. After their retirement, they moved back to Monroe County where, she attended Riverbend Baptist Church. She enjoyed working in her yard and on her family genealogy. She enjoyed feeding the birds and especially red birds. Her cats were her much loved companions. Delores enjoyed country western music and Gospel songs.

She is survived by her daughter, Bobbie Candler (Steve), Webster, TX; brother, Lynn Howell (Helen), Becker; grandchildren, Amanda and Rachel Candler; Kira Marie Algers; Michael Sims; Crystal Bass; Stephanie Lawrence and Jason Costley; 14 grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Tildon Sims; son, John Douglas Sims; and daughter, Phyllis Sims Costley Conklin.

Her Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM, Friday, January 15, 2016, at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory, with Dr. Roy McHenry officiating. Burial will follow in the Howell Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM, Thursday, at the funeral home.
