Amory—Debra Vaughan, 62, passed away on Monday, September 9, 2019 at the University Medical Center in Jackson. Born in Sunflower County, Debra was the daughter of I.D. and Eloise Robinson Miller.
Debra was a woman who lived her life to the fullest. She was of the Pentecostal faith and her faith and love for her family guided her throughout her life. Debra treasured her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids and loved spending time with them. She enjoyed spending afternoons with her close friend, W.D. Duncan, and they watched TV or worked in the yard together. When she was younger, she mostly worked in factory jobs but also worked in retail.
In her free time, she liked to listen to Classic Rock music, especially Rod Stewart. Debra’s hobbies included cross stitch, coloring, and creating art. Above all, Debra was most proud of her children, who grew up with caring and loving hearts that in turn raised up wonderful and kind grandchildren. Debra will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Debra is survived by her daughter, Dawn Cavender (Jerry); daughter-in-law, Jamie Seymore; grandchildren, Chelsea Trease (Carson), Robby Cavender, Layne Seymore, Rebecca Seymore, C.J. Seymore; great-grandchildren, Sophia Trease, Addison Trease; niece and nephew, Sonya Plauche, Corey Morgan; and special friend, W.D. Duncan.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Vaughan; and son, Daniel Seymore.
The family extends a special thank you for the wonderful care from the doctors and nurses at UMMC Jackson, including her two nurses, Tori Hines and Tori Slay.
No services are scheduled at the funeral home. A private memorial service will be held at her home.
