Nettleton – Deborah “Kay” Brown, 64, passed away on Friday, November 10, 2017 at her residence in Nettleton. Born in Marks, Mississippi, on September 18, 1953, she was a daughter of Mevelene Clayton Pollan and the late John Doc Pollan. Deborah attended school at Crowder and Smithville. She loved the Lord with all of her heart and was a member of Bethel Baptist Church in Nettleton. She worked for over 30 years at Tecumseh Manufacturing Plant. She married the loved of her life, Johnny Mack Brown on April 30, 1988 and they were happily married for 29 years. She was blessed by the Lord with children and was eternally grateful for her family. She loved God and teaching her children about God. She was very supportive of her children and loved helping families in need. Deborah loved to garden, and spend time with family. She enjoyed fishing, making jokes, and playing video games. Her husband was her best friend and another close friend was Cathy Easter. In her free time, she liked to listen to Gospel music, draw and craft and play the piano. When her garden was in full bloom with abundant vibrant colors she was most proud. Deborah touched many lives and will be missed dearly by all the family and friends who were blessed to know her. She is survived by her soulmate, Johnny Brown, Nettleton; sons, Jay G. Pollan (Stacey), Amory, John Marshall Brown, Nettleton, Matthew Brown, Nettleton; step-daughter, Sonya Jones (Jason), Clinton, MS; grandchildren, Gabriel Pollan, Alice Jones, and Katharine Jones; mother, Mevelene Clayton, Smithville; sisters, Judy Daniels, Smithville; step-sisters, Cathy King, Smithville, Julie Clayton, Mammoth Springs, AR, Charlie Goodwin, Brownsville, TN, Carolyn Hammond, CA; brother, Jimmy Clayton, Amory; step-mother, May Pollan, Brownsville, TN. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by her brother John William “Johnny” Pollan; step-sister, Betty Joe Powser; step-brother, Bill English. Her funeral service will be held on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at 2:00 PM at Bethel Baptist Church, Metts Road, Nettleton, with Bro. Jackie Pate officiating. Burial will follow in Jones Chapel Cemetery, Nettleton, MS. Pallbearers will be Jay Pollan, John M Brown, Matthew Brown, Glen Young, Dane Mills and Wayne Daniels. Honorary Pallbearers will be Anthony Daniels, Chad McBunch, and Mark Fulco. Visitation will be on Monday evening, November 13, 2017 from 5-8 PM at the church.
