Amory- Debbie Sloan, 57, died Sunday, December 15, 2013 at Gilmore Memorial Medical Center. Born January 5, 1956 in Amory, she was a daughter of the late Gene Chaney and Evelyn Capps Law. She attended Hatley School and was of the Pentecostal faith. Guided by her beliefs, she was a very selfless person; always putting the needs of others before hers. She loved her family deeply, but her grandchildren held a special place in her heart. Always genuine and never worrying, her positive attitude in life touched many people. She enjoyed going to the car races, being on her computer, spending time with her Abby Gail, her dog, and cooking.
She is survived by her son, Andy Sloan, Greenwood Springs; grandchildren, Zakeri Jenkins, Brooke, Breanna, Callie Beth and Jake Sloan; great grandson, John Paydin Jenkins; niece, DeAndra Smith, Amory; and a numerous friends.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Barry Sloan; sister, Donna Gail Smith; brother, Nickey Chaney.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2pm, Wednesday, December 18 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Chuck Moffett officiating. Burial will follow in Hatley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jason Law, Shane Knight, Chad Hill, Sam Mitchell, Danny Scott and Randy Sloan.
Visitation will be Tuesday evening at the funeral home from 5-8pm.
