David Watson
Smithville, Miss.—Ronald David Watson, 67, died on Thursday, March 20, 2014 at his home. Born November 24, 1946 in Terrell, Ark., he was a son of Willard Dee and Elizabeth Christine Potts Watson. He attended school in Germantown, TN and Smithville. Before his retirement, he worked in auto body repair. Having a kind, loving, and jovial spirit, he was known for his generosity and he was passionate about veterans’ organizations and the NRA. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and he enjoyed bass fishing, reading, watching the History Channel and SciFi Network, and target shooting.
A memorial gathering visitation will be 5 until 8 p.m. on Sunday evening at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory.
Survivors include two sons, Gregory Allen Watson of Austin, TX and Brian David Watson of Mooreville; two sisters, Judy Sims (Wayne) of Amory and JoAnn Hubert of Pontotoc; one brother, Glen Watson of Verona; 3 grandchildren, Calvin Watson, Andrew Watson, and Camryn Watson; numerous nieces and nephews; and special friends, James Edgeworth and Robert Earl Elliot.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a sister-in-law, Carolyn Watson; and a brother-in-law, Marvin Hubert.
