Amory - David J. Prestage, Sr., 43, died on Tuesday, May 1, 2012, at Pioneer Community Hospital, Aberdeen. Born on January 2, 1969, he was a son of Martha Ann Roberts Prestage and the late L. C. Prestage.
David attended Aberdeen High School. Before becoming the owner and operator of Rebel Roofing, he worked as a supervisor at Shaw in Okolona. David was Pentecostal. Fun-loving, joking, and outgoing, he never met a stranger. A family-man, David’s life revolved around his love for his children and family. Having the gift of making people laugh, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and arrowhead hunting.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, May 5 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Bingham and Pastor Shane Cruse officiating. Burial will follow in Keyes Cemetery in Itawamba County. Pallbearers will be D. J. Prestage, Larry Prestage, Billy Prestage, Kp Cruse, Ray Morris, James “Poncho” Plaxico and Kip Cruse. Honorary pallbearers will be Tommy and Lewis Prestage.
He is survived by his mother, Martha Ann Prestage; daughters, Cheyenne Renae Prestage, Tiffany Stone, and Blake Capps; sons, David J. Prestage, Jr., and James Dakota Prestage; sisters, Wanda Nash, Carol Prestage, Sondra Hulsey (Ricky), and Barbara Hudson (David); brothers, Tommy Prestage (Jane), Lewis Prestage (Felicia), Billy Prestage (Daphne), and Larry Prestage (Rachel); granddaughters, Sarah, Cloe, and Aliyah; several nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews; and special friends, Karen Capps, mother of Cheyenne and Dakota, and Carol Stone, mother of David J. Prestage, Jr.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents; and nieces and nephews, Steven Ray Mask, Kelsey George, and Aiden Hall.
