David Wayne Cox

Amory- David Wayne Cox, 45, died Saturday, November 23, 2013 at NMMC. Born in Amory January 8, 1968 he was a son of Joe C. Cox, Jr. and Louise Phillips Cox.

Growing up he attended Amory School, was of the Baptist faith, worked in the area furniture plants, and also done construction work. Very outgoing, he never met a stranger, always outgoing and joking with people. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and being in the outdoors hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his mother, Louise Phillips Cox, Amory; daughter, Terri Mitchell, Smithville; son, Brandon “Bud” Cox, Smithville; brother, Wayne Cox (Sharon), Pearl; granddaughter, Kinsley Drew Mitchell; a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by his sister, Mary Ann Chism.

A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1pm, Tuesday, November 26, 2013 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Scott Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in Hatley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Sam Jones, Tony and John Phillips, Kevin Dykes, Andy Terry, Tim Nance, Gray Smith, Zach Lann, Zach Stevenson and Todd Gibbs.

Visitation will be Monday evening at the funeral home from 5-8pm.
