David Browning
Amory, Miss.—David Allen Browning, 80, died on Saturday, February 1, 2014 at the Gilmore Memorial Regional Medical Center in Amory. Born February 7, 1933 in Amory, he was a son of Basil G. and Juanita Chastine Howell Browning. He attended Hatley High School and he married Verma G. Irving. He later married Joyce Law. Before his retirement, he was a truck driver and he also worked as a security guard. A U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, he also was a member of the Meadowood Baptist Church. His hobbies included fishing, gardening, and word search puzzles.
A Celebration of Life service will be 11 a.m. on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at the E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Dr. Lloyd Sweatt officiating. Burial will be in the Fuqua Cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Joyce Browning of Amory; one son, Donald A. Browning (Jeanine) of Amory; 4 stepsons, David Adams of Amory, Alan Adams (Lola) of Amory, Mark Adams (Willoneas) of Monroeville, AL, and Michael Adams of Amory; one brother, Basil Leon Browning (Ann) of Clinton, MS; 2 grandchildren, Jeffrey A. Browning (Tonya) and Jason L. Browning (Heather), several step-grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren, Jonathan “J.J.” Browning, Benjamin Browning, and several step great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one brother, William E. Browning and by his first wife, Verma G. Browning.
Pallbearers will be Jeff Browning, Jason Browning, Alan Adams, and David Adams.
Visitation will continue until service time on Tuesday.
