Amory – David Wayne Basham, 35, passed away on Friday, April 8, 2016 in Okolona, MS. Born on September 4, 1980, in Amory, he was a son of Dewayne Eddie and Cynthia Rae Mitchell Basham.
David attended Becker and Hatley High School. He worked as a manager for the football teams while in school. David was of the Assembly of God Faith. He enjoyed tinkering on vehicles and helping his family members. His family said David had an infectious smile and he cared deeply about his daughters and his nieces and nephews. He was a great over-comer of many obstacles in his life. David was a member of the Royal Rangers and he liked to hunt, fish, listen to all sorts of music. He was an avid Alabama football fan.
Survivors include his daughters, Mary Lynn Dakota Basham, Hatley, Michelle Harley Rea Basham, Hatley; parents, Dewayne and Cynthia Basham, Greenwood Springs; sister, Jennifer Basham, Amory; brother, Jonathan Basham, Nettleton; nieces and nephews, Dalton and Chloe Allred; Xander Flood; Daniel and Destiny Galloway; Danielle Basham.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Brandie Maschell Basham; great-grandparents, Marvin and Vivian Basham; Joseph and Adine Mitchell; Aunt, Renee Mitchell.
His Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, April 16, 2016, at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory, with Bro. Danny Burks and Bro. Harvey Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow in Center Hill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Larry Mitchell, Pat McDonald, Brad Starr, R.J. Smitherman, J. R. Capps, Travis Mitchell. Honorary pallbearer will be Jonathan Basham, Dr. Roger Ratliff, Donnie Plunkett JR.
Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM, Friday, at the funeral home.
