Amory – Danny Ray White, 56, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2015, at North Mississippi Medical Center, Tupelo, MS. Born on September 13, 1959, in Daveiess, KY, he was the son of the late Wilma Watson White and Thomas Hershel “Pete” White.
Danny attended school in Ohio County, Kentucky. He entered the workforce early and had a great work ethic. At a young age, he met his best friend, Teresa Barrett and on March 12, 1977, they were married. Together they had one daughter, Brandi. Danny attended Meadowwood Baptist Church in Amory. He had a big heart, never met a stranger and was always the life of the party. He lit up the room when he walked in and he loved life to the fullest. Danny was an Entrepreneur and later in life he became the owner of Danny’s Tire Service in Amory. He enjoyed working side by side with his brothers at his business.
A true family man, he loved his wife and treasured the simple fellowship of his family and friends. Danny’s granddaughter, Destiny, held a special place in his heart. He loved to fish, hunt, and camp in the woods. Sammy Mitchell was one of Danny’s closest friends, and they solved most of the world’s problems while drinking coffee together. His favorite type of music was old country music. Danny also loved to play with his two fury companions, “Buddy” and “Chico”. Danny was very handy with his hands and he enjoyed working on his home as he remodeled it. He will be truly missed by all who knew him.
Survivors include his wife and best friend, Teresa Barrett White; daughter, Brandi White Montgomery (John), Smithville; granddaughter, Destiny Montgomery, Smithville; brother, Richard “Bo” White, Mantachie, Thomas “Bubby” White (Regina), Mantachie; half- brother, Tommy White, Texas; sisters, Judy White, Kentucky; half sister, Gloria Ligon, Dover, AR; numerous nieces and nephews; special friends, Sammy Mitchell, Larry Tubb, Kent Collins, Ronald Minga, and too many more to list.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra White Keasler and his brother, Terry White.
His Funeral Service will be held at 2 PM, Thursday, December 31, 2015, at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Dr. Lloyd Sweatt, Bro. John Walden, and Bro. Danny Carl Burks officiating. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery, Amory. Pallbearers will be Larry Gaudlock, Kent Collins, Jimbo Adams, Ronald Minga, Eric White, and Bro. Danny Carl Burks. Honorary Pallbearers will be Sammy Mitchell, Larry Tubb, Stan Morris, Billy Joe Bowen, Kenny Barrett, and Gary Basham.
Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM, Wednesday, at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory.
