Danny J. Smith

Plantersville - Danny Joe Smith, 54, died on Sunday, October 7, 2012, at the Community Hospice in Verona. Born November 11, 1957 in Monroe County, he was a son of Katherine Bullard Smith and the late Ariol Morris Smith.

He was a former sewing machine mechanic for Amory Garment Company and he enjoyed fishing and 4-wheeler riding. He was of the Baptist faith and a U.S. Army veteran.

A Celebration of Life Service will be 2 p.m. on Tuesday, October 9, 2012 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home Chapel in Amory with Bro. Steve Parrish officiating. Burial will be in the Haughton Memorial Park with Military Honors. Pallbearers will be the members of the military.

Survivors include one daughter, Brittany Renea Smith Tubbs (Daniel) of Nettleton; one son, Christopher Joe Smith of Mooreville; two sisters, Janet Lynn Haynes of Amory and Susan Ann Kennedy (Dwight) of Amory; one brother, Jerry Dale Smith of Nettleton; two grandchildren, Donivan Daniel Tubbs and Aubrey Faith Tubbs; and special friend, Nelle Escalante.

He was preceded in death by his father; brother, Sammy Morris Smith; and brother-in-law, Danny Haynes.

Visitation will continue until service time at the funeral home.
