Canton—Arness Dale Weaver, 75, left her earthly course on January 18, 2020. Born in Amory, MS on August 16, 1944, she was the daughter of Arnie and Addie Mae Weaver.
Dale graduated from Amory High School and then obtained her Bachelor’s degree in nutrition from Vanderbilt University. Throughout her working years, she owned and operated her own catering business, worked with Kraft Foods, and with the state of Mississippi as a registered dietitian nutritionist. Dale served in nursing homes and hospitals for several years.
A compassionate, generous woman, Dale saw the good in everyone. She truly lived with the golden rule of treating her peers with the utmost love and respect. Dale had a heart of gold and was known for her sweet nature and non-judgmental advice. When asked to describe Dale, her friends would list many qualities such as her kindness, her generosity, and the way she always offered forgiveness to anyone who wronged her. Many may remember her for giving out sodas and free hotdogs to her neighborhood every Halloween. Every person she met was her family.
Her family and friends meant the world to her, and she was a faithful member of a Methodist church in Canton. Dale gained strength through her faith in God, and her faith never wavered, even throughout the four battles of cancer. She won the first three fights, but the Lord called her home this time.
In her free time, Dale loved junkin’ and pickin’. She also enjoyed cooking meals for her friends and family. She was passionate about animal rights and adored her dog, Barney. After 75 years of love, selflessness, and laughter, Dale left this world in a better place than she found it.
Dale is survived by her niece and nephew, Jim Weaver (Donna), Ava Witt (Paul); and friend, William Lesley (Laura).
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Carl David Weaver.
A funeral service will be held at 3PM on Friday, January 24, 2020 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory. Burial will follow in Haughton Memorial Park.
Visitation will be from 1PM until the service hour on Friday at the funeral home.
