Bro. Dale Ford

Greenwood Springs — Bro. Dale Ford, 67, met his Lord and Savior on Thursday, January 31, 2019. Born on August 20, 1951, in Aberdeen, MS, he was a son of Mary Alice Noe Ford and the late Guy Ford.

Bro. Dale grew up attending Greenwood Springs School and graduated from Hatley High School in 1969. He married the love of his life, Linda Ann Guin of Guin, Alabama, on June 2, 1972, and together they were blessed with four children. He furthered his education by attending ICC, Liberty University on line and received a master’s degree online from Anderson Baptist Seminary. He was very patriotic, and he proudly served in the United States Army National Guard for 6 years. He initially worked for Pullman Couch, and then he was a long-time employee of Tubb Printing, later renamed Star Printing Company, where he enjoyed many years working with his friend and boss, Robert Boozer.

He was most happy when he was either in the pulpit preaching God’s word or helping others in need, especially the less fortunate. Bro. Dale loved the Lord and enjoyed telling others about the Lord’s great mercies and grace. Every morning during the early hours, he loved reading his Bible. Bro. Dale prayed with his wife every morning, and every evening when the children were all still at home, he led devotions with his family and any visitors who happened to be present. He was currently a member of Guntown First Baptist Church where he taught the middle adult Sunday School class. He delighted in reaching the lost.

He was a kind, funny, and loving man who loved to sing. He enjoyed Southern Gospel, Old Hymns, especially music by The Kingsmen and The Cathedrals. His charismatic personality was contagious, and he could make anyone smile. His family meant the world to him, and he was most proud of his ministry work as a Pastor for 38 years and working at Star Printing Company. He called his mother and children every day to check in with them. He volunteered at the Alzheimer Unit each month at Diversicare Nursing Center while pastoring Splunge FWB church; prior to this, he was very passionate about his Monroe Country Home Ministry while pastoring Christian FWB in Amory. In his free time, he enjoyed playing golf with his grandson Nathan, attending and/or watching MSU Football and Baseball, and listening to St. Louis Cardinal’s Baseball games. Bro. Dale loved to prepare gourmet food for his family and enjoyed the sweet fellowship with them that followed each meal.

A soul-winner, he led many to Christ; Bro. Dale will be missed by many people. His family celebrates, knowing Bro. Dale is now face to face with the One he preached and sang about, forever surrounded by His peace and love as he loudly sings praises to his Wonderful Savior.

Bro. Dale is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Linda; his mother, Mary Alice Ford, Greenwood Springs; daughters, Nikki Burton (John), Furrs, MS, Stacye Edgil (Matthew), Amory, and Shelly Roberts (Coleman), Tupelo; son, Stephen Dale Ford, Winfield, AL; sister, Wanda Hollis (Jimmy), Vernon, AL; brother, Kenny Ford (Johnnie), Greenwood Springs; grandchildren, Nathan Terry, Maddie Pounders, John Paul Burton, Ruth Ann Burton, Austin Burton, Abby Grace Roberts, and Matt Edgil (Candace); nieces and nephews, Guy Ford (Emily), Stephanie Stafford, Daniel Ford (Leslie), Jennifer Cook (Jason), Casy Hollis (Brittany), Toni Knight (Shane), Jason East (Tiffany), and Meredith Weathers (David); numerous great nieces and nephews; 4 great-great nieces and nephews.
