Cynthia W Hickey

Amory – Cynthia Hickey, 62, passed away on November 20, 2022, at Diversicare Nursing Facility in Amory, Mississippi. She was born on April 24, 1960 in Marks, Mississippi to the late Billy Jean Stewart and Retha Warrene Douglass Stewart.

Cynthia grew up in Coahoma county, with three brothers, and she graduated from Coahoma County High School. She later attended courses at Coahoma County Community College. She married James Hickey, SR., and together they were blessed with two children. Later in life, she relocated to Amory, Mississippi to be close to her brother.

She worked in one of the most important jobs in society, she was a homemaker. Cynthia loved her family and she was most proud of her children and their accomplishments. She was a caring and loving person yet never worried about what others thought of her. Cynthia had a huge heart and a great love for God. The Bible guided her life and she walked out her faith daily.

In her free time, she enjoyed listening to Country and Gospel as well as playing Bingo, going on walks, and watching tv. Most of all, she cherished the precious time spent with her family and children.

Her family and friends know that she is at peace in the presence of the Lord. They will miss her dearly and will cherish all the great memories made through the years.

She is survived by her daughter, Amee Hickey; son, James Hickey, Jr.; brothers, Joseph Stewart (Michelle), and Nathan Stewart, Jr (Tanya).

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Hickey, Sr; and her brother, Tracy Stewart.

The family will be conducting a private Memorial Service.
