Smithville—Coy Emmanual Dabbs, 58, passed away Sunday, March 4th, 2018 at his residence in Smithville, MS. Born in Crowder, MS on January 19th, 1960, he was the son of Ina Mae and Dewey Dabbs.
Coy graduated from Smithville High School in 1978, where he was remembered as "the class clown." He was very proud of his work and spent the past 29 years employed with Jesco Maintenance at Cooper Tire in Tupelo, MS. In his spare time, he enjoyed gardening and fishing with his beloved wife, watching nascar races and college football, but mostly he enjoyed spending time with his family. Coy was a man of Christian faith and was a member of Cross Bound Church in Smithville.
Coy is survived by his wife, Anita Dabbs of Smithville, MS; father, Dewey Dabbs of Amory, MS; son, Tony Dabbs (Ashley) of Shannon, MS; son Michael Dabbs (Julie) of Amory, MS; daughter, Ashleigh Spenner (Jared) of Salem, WI; and daughter, Darby Dabbs of Smithville, MS; grandchildren, Emma, Dakota, Hunter, Aiden, Angelica, Skylar, Makenzye and Alex; brothers, Johnny Hester, Jimmy Dabbs (Jill), Gary Dabbs and Van Dabbs; sister, Carol Lancour (Jim), and numerous nieces and nephews.
Coy is preceded in death by his mother, Ina Mae Dabbs; sister, Penny Stanford; daughter, Robin Dabbs; and grandson, Derrick Gold.
A celebration of life service for Coy will be at 2:00 P.M. Wednesday, March 7th 2018 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory. Bro. Kevin Crook and Ryan Musgrove will be officiating. Burial will follow at Young Memorial Cemetery in Smithville. Pallbearers include Johnny Hester, Jimmy Dabbs, Van Dabbs, Gary Dabbs, Kent Collins, and Richard Alred. Honorary Pallbearers include Donnie Posey, Billy Taylor and Donald Ferguson.
Visitation for Coy will be from 5:00-8:00 PM, Tuesday March 6, 2018 at the funeral home.
