Coy Lane Allen

Vernon - Coy Lane Allen, 64, died on Thursday, July 24, 2014, at his residence. Born on July 6, 1950, in Sulligent, he was a son of the late Henry and Anita Mangrum Allen.

Coy was a graduate of Caledonia High School in 1968. He married Linda May Moates on October 16, 1968. Coy was a roofer. He was of the Assembly of God faith. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking and Fats Domino and Gospel music. A jokester who was loved by all, Coy was passionate about his family, especially his grandchildren.

Survivors include his daughters, Katrina Lee (Robbie), Lagina J. Allen, and son, Roy Scott Allen of Vernon; sisters, Olena Morton, Caledonia, Jaunita Atkins (Ray), Amory, Henrietta McClutcheon, Columbus; brothers, Roger Allen (Dot), Amory and Troy Allen (Joyce), MS; grandchildren, Megan Turner (Tyler), Courtney Hagood (Andrew), Macy Lee, Coy Scott King, Colby Bradford, Joshua Allen, Kelee Allen; great-grandchildren, Keagin Turner, McKenzie George, Lane Turner, Tristan Hagood; ; many nieces and nephews; special friends, Carl Curry and David Reeves.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Allen; sister, Lucy Hood; and brothers, Bill, Ray, and Roy Allen.

A family inurnment service will be held at a later date.
