Cory Joe Box

Amory – Cory Joe Box, 32, passed away on Tuesday, March 15, 2016, at his residence. Born on January 1, 1984, in Amory, MS, he was a son of Theresa Kay Knight Gann and Quitman Gary Box.

Cory attended school in Houston and in Hatley. He persevered, got his GED, and later went on to receive his Commercial Drivers License Certificate from Itawamba Community College. Cory was a talented young man who worked as a truck driver for both Rimmer Trucking and Averitt. He also worked at Grammer in the warehouse. Cory was a member of LifePointe Church in Amory. His family and friends meant the most to him in his life.

He was outgoing and dedicated to keeping his body in tip top shape by working out daily. His successful journey with weight loss and the transformation of his body was a great testimony to others and it gave others inspiration to tackle their weight problems. Cory’s big heart was evident to all that knew him and if someone were down, he would cut up and act silly until he made the person smile. To his family, he was a great son, an awesome brother, and a loving husband. Cory was adventurous and he liked to go mud riding and riding street bikes. He enjoyed the thrill of swapping, trading, and bartering for different items and enjoyed the friendships made through those transactions. He listened to all types of music, especially while riding in the car. One of his favorite songs was “Lead Me Home” by Jamie Johnson. There was never a dull moment when he was around you and he never met a stranger. He was a wonderful, fun-loving man, who will be missed greatly.
