Amory –Colon Stanley Mixon, 75, died on Friday, November 14, 2014, at Tupelo Nursing and Rehab Center. Born on June 19, 1939, in Sulligent, he was a son of the late Alvin Hobson and Katie Mansell Mixon.
Colon attended Amory Schools and served in the US Navy. An avid reader of the Bible, his favorite verse was “Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.” A private person, he enjoyed taking long walks and Gospel music.
Survivors include his daughters, Brenda Mixon, Fulton, and Rhonda Mask, Okolona; son, Michael Mixon, Aberdeen; brothers, Harold Hoyt Mixon, Amory and Doyle Gene Mixon (Gay), Shannon; grandchildren, Stacie and Haley Mixon; Brittany Mask; Wayne, Zack and Sidney Davis; several nieces & nephews; special friends, James Boyd and Jack Petal.
In addition his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Johnnie Fosten and brothers, Reddus Buford and Douglas Mixon.
A Funeral Service will be held at 2PM, Monday, November 17 at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Pastor Greg Huguley officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Hebron Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ricky Pennington, family and friends.
Visitation will be from 11 AM - 2 PM, Monday at the funeral home.
