Cody Lee Leach

Smithville – Cody Lee Leach, 28, passed away on March 28, 2017 in Alabama. Born on March 2, 1989, he is the son of Earl Wayne Leach (Sheila) and Angelia Lee Purser. He was of the Baptist faith. He was employed at United Furniture in upholstery.

Cody was an exceptional artist and received many awards for his artistic talent. He was an intelligent young man who graduated with honors from Smithville High School class of 2008. He was a true jokester and was very popular with all of his peers. Cody never met a stranger and would try to help people when he could. In his past time, he enjoyed hunting, fishing for catfish, and watching the University of Alabama football games. Loving the outdoors, he also loved to collect Indian arrow heads. He loved to listen to country music, old rock and Gospel music.


In addition to his parents, he is survived by a sister, Leslie Leach; brothers, Jamie Leach (Cassey), Caledonia, Bobby Leach (Taylor), Amory, Jacob Allred (Anna), Greenwood Springs;God Daughter, Brecklynn Bedford; Grandmother, Wanda Harris, Smithville; Grandfather, Clemos West, Amory; Step brother, Shane Purser (Kayla), Hamilton; Aunt, Shelia West, Hamilton, Ala, Kereon West, Hamilton; Nephews: Wesley and Cooper Leach; Uncles, Keith, Bobby and Scott Leach.

He was preceded in death by a grandmothers, Laura West; Great Grandmother, EthelLeslie; Step-sister, Misty Purser; Step-Father, Mikell Purser


A graveside service for Mr. Leach will be at 3:00 P.M. on Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Liberty Grove Cemetery. Bro Chris Moody will be officiating. Pallbearers will be Scott Leach, Andrew Abbott, Breck Bedford, Jamie Leach, Bobby Leach and Josh Addington.


Visitation will be 12:30 – 2:30 P.M., Thursday, April 6, 2017 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home, Smithville.
