Amory – Clovis Nathaniel “Punk” Ford, 84, passed away Sunday, May 28, 2017, at his residence. Born on August 7, 1932, in Monroe County, he was a son of the late Selma Clinton and Susie Velma Williams Ford.
Punk attended school at Trace Road School in Monroe County. On August 6, 1950, he married his best friend and love of his life, Mable Aline Miller, whom he remained married to for almost 66 years until her passing in 2016. He lived a lifetime of service unto the Lord as he was a charter member of New Hope Baptist Church, where he served as a deacon for 65 years, an achievement of which he was especially proud. He was also proud of the friendships he made in all facets of his life.
He worked for more than 30 years combined for Pepsi and Coca-Cola as a salesman and distributor in Monroe County. Upon retirement from Coke, he began to drive a bus for Amory Schools as well as work for the Amory Golf Club. Punk also enjoyed hobbies such as being around his friends, drinking coffee at the restaurant, watching westerns on television, or just talking to friends on his front porch. But little could compare to his love of fishing and spending the day on the water with family and friends. Spending time with his children and their families was one of his most cherished pass-times. Through these experiences he formed many of the friendships and bonds that lasted a lifetime. But above all, Punk remained a devoted family man who appreciated his role as husband, father, patriarch, and friend to all who befriended him and loved him.
