Clodell Gray Sr.

Caledonia – Clodell Gray, Sr., 73, passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2024 at North Mississippi Medical Center, Amory, Mississippi. He was born March 8, 1951, in Itawamba County, Mississippi to Willie Lee Gray and Ida Mae (Wright) Gray. He grew in a large family with four brothers and six sisters. Clodell attended Nettleton School.

Clodell was a hard worker and a good provider for his family. He was a steel worker for many years and retired from Tru-Temper Sports. He and his wife Wanda had one daughter and three sons. 

A simple man, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, and listening to oldie’s 60’s, 70’s and 80’s rock. He enjoyed watching football especially Ole Miss, Denver Broncos, and Indianapolis Colts. He was a Baptist by faith. The thing he was most proud of was raising his family. His joy came from spending time with his family and friends which included his fellow employees from Tru-Temper and special friend, Johnny Taylor.

In addition to his parents, he is proceeded in death by four sisters, three brothers, and a great granddaughter. 

He is survived by his wife, Wanda; daughter, Sabrina Gunter of Nettleton, three sons; Clodell Gray, Jr, (Kimberly) of Nettleton, Teddy Lee Gray (Chrissy) of Aberdeen, and Shakota Austin Lee Gray of Caledonia; two sisters, Kathy Gwen Alvis (Robert) of Aberdeen and Ramona Laney of Shannon, brother; Dureall Richard Gray (Glenda) of Plantersville; thirteen grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life Service will be on held on Friday, September 27, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Fowlkes officiating. Visitation will be at 9:00 a.m. until the service hour at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home.

Memorials contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
