Wadley, AL – Cleveland Roy Hacker, 87, passed away on Sunday, July 19, 2015, at his residence. Born on September 10, 1927, in Monroe County, he was a son of the late Eugene and Florence L. Hurley Hacker.

Cleveland attended school in Franklin County, Alabama. He married the love of his life, Dorothy Hester Hacker. They moved to Zion, IL, and worked at Mac Whyte Wire and Rope Mill in Kenosha. He was a loving and caring person who was always joking and trying to make people smile. He moved to Amory where he was a member of Bigbee Baptist Church. Later, he retired in Alabama and was a member of Handley Avenue Church of God in Roanoke, AL. Cleveland was passionate about his family, praising both Jesus and God for all things. He was guided by his Christian beliefs and did not like it when people argued or quarreled. His favorite saying was “Everything is fine as frog hair.” He was a fighter who battled kidney failure for years. He enjoyed getting to know people during dialysis treatments. In his free time, he loved watching Alabama football, hanging out with his family and friends, and listening to Gospel Music.

Survivors include his daughters, Leisha Ellis (David), Wadley, AL, and Jan McWorter (Jerry), Ventura, CA; sons, Jerrald Hacker and Denford C. Hacker of Cleveland, AL; sisters, Dora Pounders, Hazel Fierro, Linnis Reames, Doris Okerblom, Jewell Powell, and Juanita Bugge; grandchildren, Connie Lynn Maeder, D.J Hacker, Kendra Hacker, Justin Hacker, Jessica Hacker, Shannon Lamberson, Shana Callahan, Wesley Hacker, Dean Hacker, Loren Hacker, Shera Saucier, Ryan McWorter; great-grandchildren, Lindsey, Kaleb, Korrine, Dustin, Alyssa, Devin, Kylie, Jorga, Colby, Madysen, Hailey, Ava, Shaye, Desteny, Sierra, Casey, Alexus, Cayden, Axl, and Myleigh; several nieces & nephews; and caregiver, Heather.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Connie Lynn Hacker; a son, Gary Hacker; grandchildren, Jacob Hacker and Shelaine Ellis; sisters, Lorene King, Eva Yellig, Meathel Franks, and Louise Bohannon; brothers, Verlon, Berline, and Gaylord Hacker.

A Double Funeral Service for Mr. Hacker and his grandson, Jacob Hacker, will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, July 25, 2015, at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory, with Bro. Justin Haynes officiating. Burial will follow in Hatley Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Wesley, Dean and Loren Hacker; Charles Garrison; Tim Sanderson; David Callahan; Bill Davis; Mark Cheney; Alan Young; Mike Bugee; Tom Davis.

Visitation will be from 5 - 8 PM, Friday at the funeral home.
