Amory – Clara Mae Hurley, 73, died on Thursday, June 9, 2011, at Sanctuary Hospice. Born on February 2, 1938, in Monroe County, she was a daughter of the late Jim and Doshie Price Allred.
Mrs. Hurley married Russell Hurley in 1959. She was a seamstress, having worked in the local garment plants. Mrs. Hurley was of the Baptist faith. She enjoyed sitting outside watching the squirrels and the birds and visiting with folks at the campground. A bargain hunter, Mrs. Hurley enjoyed going to yard sales and thrift stores.
She is survived by a daughter, Kathy Hill and her friend, Pat, of Baldwyn; sons, Lester (Brenda) Harris, Biloxi, Joey Hurley, Baldwyn, and Billy Hurley, Ft. Worth, TX; brothers, Jimmy Allred, Becker and Willie Allred, Tupelo; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Joe Hurley; two sisters; and three brothers.
A Graveside Service will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, June 11, 2011, in Hatley Cemetery with Bro. Bubba Kennedy officiating. Pallbearers will be selected from family and friends. Everyone is asked to meet at 1:40 PM at the funeral home to go in procession to the cemetery.
Visitation will be from 10 – 1:40 PM, Saturday at the funeral home.
