Amory – Chestine Boyd Lindsey, 73, died on Thursday, October 6, 2011, at her daughter’s residence in Hoover, AL. Born on March 7, 1938, in Red Bay, AL, she was a daughter of the late Thomas Edison and Gladys Idona Petree Boyd.
Mrs. Lindsey was a graduate of Vina, AL, High School, Class of 1956. She had worked as a seamstress with Glenn Manufacturing and worked as the Amory Middle School cafeteria manager for 24 years, retiring in 1995. A devoted woman of faith, Mrs. Lindsey was a member of Faith Baptist Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Lindsey was a very loving and caring mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. Being a cancer survivor, she was passionate about breast cancer awareness and was a member of the local breast cancer group and the Red Hat Society. Mrs. Lindsey enjoyed cooking, gardening, and working in her yard.
She is survived by her daughter, Ginger Lindsey Ricchetti (Rex), Hoover, AL; son, Roy Dale Lindsey, Jefferson, LA; brother, Ottis Boyd, Red Bay, AL; grandchildren, Tyler, Lindsey, and Bailey Ricchetti; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Brice Lindsey, and a brother, Phillip Boyd.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, October 8, 2011, at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Bro. Wade Cook officiating. Burial will follow in Masonic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Tyler Ricchetti, Timothy Boyd, Jesse Lindsey, Doug Maxwell, Jimmy Yarbrough, and Greg Smith.
Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM, Friday at the funeral home.
Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be given to Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Attn: Donor Svcs., PO Box 650309, Dallas, TX 75265-0309.
