Charlotte L. Pugh Culver

Charlotte L. Pugh Culver, 71, passed away on Monday, April 22, 2024 at North Mississippi Medical Center, Tupelo, Mississippi and became totally healed and had a sweet reunion with her husband in Heaven. She was born on June 17, 1952 in Northville, Michigan to Jessie Pugh and Maxine (Lee) Pugh.

She graduated from Hatley High School in 1970. She married the love of her life Charles Culver on October 15, 1977 and they were blessed with three children. Charlotte was a member of East Amory Baptist Church and she loved the Lord. She worked as a seamstress/supervisor at People Loungers, Lucky Star, Advantage, Contract Sewing Services, and she also managed Short Street Packing in Nettleton, Mississippi.

In her free time, she enjoyed just about anything outdoors, especially walking her furry son, Charlie Culver daily around the neighborhood. She loved that dog and he was her great companion for many years. Charlotte loved going to the beach, working and tending to her yard which was always immaculate. She liked to travel and camp whenever she had the time and just solve all the world’s problems while swinging on her swing. When inside, she liked watching football, listening to 50’s to 80’s and selective 90’s music and cooking some of her famous chicken and dumplings as well as red velvet cake.

A woman with a huge heart, she was most passionate about giving to Hannah House and St. Jude. In her life, her family and friends were the most important to her and this guided her actions. Charlotte loved taking yearly and birthday trips with her closest friends, Gail Knight, Lynnie Higginbotham, Dianna Smith, Crystal Harlow, and Amy Lemley.

Charlotte’s favorite sayings were “it is what it is” and “take one day at a time” and she often made others ponder their decisions by saying “does that make sense to you?” She was a compassionate, honest, strong, loving, and wise woman who was always the glue to keep the family together. Charlotte will be greatly missed by her family and friends. They know that she is in the presence of the Lord and that gives them great comfort and peace.

She is survived by three daughters, Mariah Taylor Culver, Amory, MS, Tiffany April Parham, Summit, MS, Patricia Lynn Coggin, Saltillo, MS; three sisters, Karol Conwill (Bob), New Albany, MS, Nina Whitlock, Amory, MS, Laura Howard, Amory, MS; one sister in law, Terri Culver, Nettleton, MS; five grandchildren, Courtney Coggin, Saltillo, MS, Mollie Bethann Starlin (Shane), Amory, MS, David Owen Coggin, Hoover, AL, Ian Smith, Starkville, MS, Chloe Smith, Baldwin, MS; and three great-grandchildren, McKaylynn Coggin, Korbyn Morris, and Anthony Starlin.

She was preceded in death by her husband of thirty years, Charles Culver; her parents, Jessie Pugh and Maxine (Lee) Pugh; sister, Beverly Pugh; brother, Danny Pugh; and her in-laws, Frank and Barbara Culver.
