Amory – Charles “Pete” Poole, 74, died on Wednesday, August 4, 2010 in Community Hospice at Darlington Oaks. A native of Pickens County, AL, he was a son of the late Ernest & Alma Hager Poole. Mr. Poole was a retired machinist at Walker Manufacturing. He was Baptist. Mr. Poole was a former member of the National Guard, Winfield, AL. Always smiling, Pete was a practical joker. His favorite teams were the Atlanta Braves and University of Alabama football. His family was very important to him and he enjoyed Country music. He is survived by a daughter, Melissa (Duane) Huddleston, sister, Lorene Warren, and brother, Alfred Poole, all of Amory; grandchildren, Krista, Laken and Hayley; great-grandchildren, Tyse and Aleigh; and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service for Charles Poole will be held at 2 PM, Friday at the funeral home with Bro. Tommy Whaley officiating. Burial will follow in Haughton Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Jimmy Earl, Barry and Eddie Poole, and Randall and Tim Holloway. Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM Thursday at the funeral home.
