Amory – Charles Aubrey Estes, 66, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2017, in Jackson, Mississippi. Born on January 21, 1951, in Tupelo, MS, he was a son of the late Charles Leonard and Leona Bell Reigh Estes.
Charles graduated with the Belden High School class of 1969. After graduation, he earned an additional two degrees through on-line programs. He was a talented, self-employed carpenter who also did woodworking as a hobby in his free time. During his lifetime, he was blessed with one son. He was a Christian, who grew up in Trinity Baptist Church and later attended the Church of God. Charles’s family meant so much to him and he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his son. Gospel music was his favorite type of music to listen to. He also enjoyed corresponding and receiving letters from his daughter-in-law. One of Charles’s favorite sayings was “don’t like noise unless I make It myself”. Charles would give you shirt off his back and helped anyone in need.
He is survived by his son, Donnie Manasco (Juanita), Amory; brother, Raymond Wesley Estes; grandchildren, Nicki Leach, Amory, Memory McAfee (Tyler), Amory, Jacob Reeves (Sandra) US Army, Nettleton, Hope Manasco, Paris, TX; life-long friend, Jimmy Stephens; several extended family members.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William Hampton “Billy” Estes.
His graveside funeral service will be at 11 AM, Thursday, May 4, 2017 at Endville Baptist Church Cemetery, Belden, with Bro. Vance Kimble and Bro. Keith Vines officiating. Pallbearers will be Coy Price, Bro. Larry King, Jason Gray, Kenneth Estes, Donnie Manasco, Michael Kennedy, and Keith Vines.
Visitation will be on Thursday from 9 am until 10:30 am at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home.
