Charity Lea Young Gallop
Amory - On Monday, August 21, 2023, surrounded by her family, Charity Gallop was met by her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Her life being her testimony of the great love that she had for Him.
Charity was born on April 2, 1973, in Glen Dale, West Virginia, to Charlie and Billie Adams Young. She grew up in Amory and Monroe County, graduated from Hatley High School, and later finished her education at Itawamba Community College. Charity worked for American Funeral, Monroe County Tax Collector’s Office, and Sunshine stores. Her most important job was working at her home, being a wonderful wife and mother and supportive daughter.
On June 7, 1997, she married the love of her life, Steve Gallop, and together they were blessed with two lovely daughters, Mackenzie and Madison. Charity was a dedicated mother and friend to her family and many in the community. Her husband was her best friend, her mother was her cheer leader, and her daughters her pride and joy. She also had cat family members through the years, and she loved them as well. When she reflected on her family, which God had given her, she was so thankful and gave the glory to God.
Her smile would light up a room and her sweet spirit was contagious. Charity was a longtime member of Meadowood Baptist Church and she loved her church family. Her outgoing personality always made people ask and discover her source of joy, simply her Lord. Often playful, she could make you second guess yourself, often asking “Are you sure?” She loved praise and worship music and enjoyed the wonderful extra lift The Spirit gave her while she listened to Contemporary Christian music.
She was musically talented and enjoyed playing the piano. Her life was full and she knew that she was blessed beyond measure by God. In addition to her family, Charity had so many friends. A few of her closest friends were Judy Griffie, Missy Frederick, Pepper Carroll, Shawn Helton, Kerri Williams and Angie Schwalenberg. They supported her through her fight with cancer, and just did life together, taking in every moment God gave them together.
There is no doubt that she is in the presence of the Lord, face to face, and experiencing fully how wide and long and high and deep is His Love for her. She will be missed dearly but Heaven gained a beautiful child of God.
“And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these is charity” ~ 1 Corinthians 13:13. It’s not a coincidence that her name means love.
Left behind to treasure her memories are her husband Steve Gallop, Amory; daughters, Mackenzie Gallop and Madison Gallop, of the home; mother, Billie Young, Amory; brother, Chuck Young (Emily), Nashville; father-in-law, Jason Gallop, Amory; nieces and nephews, Shelby and Cameron Young; many special friends.
In addition to her father, Charlie Young, she was preceded in death by her mother-in-law, Sherron Gallop.
