Amory – Carolyn Bickerstaff Cox, 70, passed away on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, at NMMC, Tupelo. Born on December 6, 1945, in Nettleton, she was a daughter of the late C. B. Bickerstaff, Sr., and Jennie Monaghan Bickerstaff.
Carolyn was a graduate of Amory High School, Class of 1962. On September 19, 1962, she married the love of her life, Guy W. Cox. Before retiring, Carolyn and Guy were owners of C & C Glass Service in Amory; custom built picture frames; and had worked in the cafeteria for Huntsville University Hospital. A born-again Christian who loved the Lord, she was a member of Bigbee Baptist Church. One who enjoyed spending time with her family, Carolyn was especially fond of spoiling her grand and great-grandbabies. She was an avid Alabama football fan, loved NASCAR, and loved fishing for catfish. A sweet lady with a huge heart, Carolyn was very loving and giving.
She is survived by her son, Craig Cox (Tammy), Zebulon, GA; sisters, Kay Whitlock (Ruble), Stone Mountain, GA, Cheryl Umfress (Gary), Amory, and Denna Thornton, Becker; brothers, C. B. Bickerstaff, Jr., (Judy), Carolina Community, and Joe Bickerstaff (Linda), Becker; grandchildren, Kirsten Clark (Josh), Zebulon, GA, Kayla Clower (Josh), Williamson, GA, Kurt Cox, Zebulon, GA, and Jeffrey Cox and Tiffany Cox of Huntsville, AL; great-grandchildren, Jake Jones, Austyn Clower, Charleigh Clark, Eli Clower, and Jaxten Cox; and a host of nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Guy Cox; sons, Jeff and Brett Cox; and sisters, Ann Smith and Judy Boone.
Her Funeral Service will be held at 11 AM, Saturday, April 2, 2016, at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home with Rev. Craig Cox officiating. Burial will follow in Hatley Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5 – 8 PM, Friday at the funeral home.
