Amory— Carolyn Marie Adams, 78, passed away Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Diversicare Nursing Home in Amory. She was born April 5, 1941 in Amory, MS to Thomas Clayton and Marie Taylor Adams. Carolyn was a faithful member of Gregory Chapel Baptist Church, where she was a pianist for nearly 50 years. She was a graduate of Amory High School after attending elementary and middle school at Becker Schools.
Carolyn worked at Peoples Drug Company and co-owned Rowan Hardware. She retired from her business, Dixie Cutlery, after several years.
Carolyn was courageous, determined, and led her life as normal as she could with a lifetime of sickness.
She is survived by one nephew, Brandon Adams; sister-in-law, Peggy Adams; a great nephew and great nieces; several cousins; and long-time special friend, Roy Armstrong.
She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Thomas Wayne Adams.
A funeral service will be held at 10:30AM Tuesday, July 9, 2019 at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home in Amory. Burial will be in Haughton Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Danny Taylor, Stanley Ostrowski, Mark Foreman, Phillip Waycaster, Ed Tomlin, and Barry Cook.
Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:30AM until the service hour.
