Aberdeen— Caleb Chandler Griggs, 19, passed away on Sunday, July 9, 2017. Born on November 29, 1997, in Tupelo, MS, he was a son of Dale Wayne and Angela Charlotte Garner Griggs.
Caleb attended Amory High School. He was a member of Grady Chapel United Methodist Church. He had a good heart and enjoyed making people laugh. Caleb loved animals, especially his dogs, and enjoyed hunting in his free time. He was known for being very independent and loyal. He always had a smile on his face and was respectful to others around him.
A fun loving guy, Caleb enjoyed going to the river with his friends. He also loved his motorcycles, and especially his ATVs. Caleb had a sweet spirit and will be dearly missed by his friends and loved ones. He leaves behind many memories, almost all of them with his bright smile shining through. Caleb’s life will be honored and revered by his loved ones and his memory will live on.
He is survived by his parents, Charlotte and Dale Griggs; sister, Landyn McGill, Guntown; aunts, Lisa Garner, Foley, AL, Vickie Coker, Aberdeen, Gail Peters (Daniel), Nettleton, Sharon Raley, Nettleton, Theresa Choate, Amory, Kim Joiner (Jimmy), Chicago, IL, Michelle Burt (Glen), Nettleton, Susan Pender (Brad), Nettleton, Tammy Griggs, Chicago, IL; great-aunt, Barbara Kendrick; uncle, Kenneth Choate, Verona; cousins, Ashley Kendrick Birdsell (Jordan), GA, Jeremy Crump, Matthew Crump, Tristan Brophy; a host of special friends, and special thanks to Molly Walden.
He is preceded in death by grandparents Harold Garner, Shirley Outlaw, Larry Griggs, Shirley Choate; brother, Christopher Savage; uncles, Jimmy Garner and Johnny Garner.
Funeral service for Caleb will be on Saturday, July 15, 2017, at 11A.M. at Grady’s Chapel Untied Methodist Church, with Rev. Tommy Monts officiating. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Crump, Matthew Crump, Tristan Brophy, Caleb Strawbridge, Marquez Holland, and Daniel Downey. Burial will be in Haughton Memorial Park, Amory.
Visitation will be on Friday, July 14, 2017, from 5-8 P.M. at E.E. Pickle Funeral Home.
