Amory – Carroll “Bubba” Monaghan, 77, passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2017, at Twin Oaks Nursing Center, Booneville. Born on July 16, 1939, in Evergreen Community, he was a son of the late Thomas C. and Bertha Starling Monaghan.
Bubba grew up in Evergreen Community and Amory and he was part of a large family where he was blessed 10 siblings. He was a very loving person, especially to his family. He really enjoyed being outdoors, working in his workshop, and riding his bicycle. Bubba took great care of his cats and he enjoyed caring for them. A very loving man, Bubba was a loyal, dedicated, and special member of his family and he will be missed greatly.
Survivors include his sisters, Mattie Wigington, Blue Springs, Ruby Griggs, Hattiesburg, Maddie Johnson (Truman), Amory; brothers, Bill Monaghan (Linda), Amory, Bryan Monaghan, Amory, Lincoln Monaghan, Oxford; a host of nieces and nephews; 31 great-nieces and great-nephews; 11 great-great nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Annie Kirby, Carolyn Duke, Virginia Monaghan; brother, Frank Monaghan.
His Funeral Service will be held at 3 PM, Monday, January 23, 2017, at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory with Ronda Windham officiating. Burial will follow New Chapel Cemetery, Nettleton. Pallbearers will be Bubba’s family and friends.
Visitation will be from 2:00 – 2:50 PM, Monday, at E. E. Pickle Funeral Home, Amory.
